Title: cd-r drive
Post by: Anonymous on December 14, 2001, 07:46:10 PM
hi, i just have a question about putting a cd-r drive into the case.
in order to install that, don\'t you just have to plug the cable from power supply ,and you have to connect from the cd-r drive to the motherboard? is there anything else we need to do?
any suggestions?

Disconnect all wires from the tower case.
Determine if you have a free IDE channel, or if the cdr will share an IDE channel with another device.
Most likely you have one hard drive and one cdrom.
connect the cdr on the same cable as the cdrom.
Set the jumper on the cdrom to master and the jumper on the cdr to slave.
if you are lucky enough to have a free IDE channel, use it instead.
set the jumper as either cable select or master.
connect your cdr to the sound card using the supplied cable.
If you dont have an audio cable, no big loss.
connect the power supply cable.
Have fun.
