Title: win2000 dell install

I have recently got myself a very cheap copy of win 2000 but it is a dell oem disk how can i get around the dell pc check to try and install it??

You dont! GO an but ether a dell PC or  a Full win2000 cd!

i would like to know this too. I have a dell laptop and the dvd screwed up damaging several of my disks. Dell agreed to replace my disks but the version they sent me is an OEM disk when the disk it damaged was the full version.

It also damaged my Win98se CD and dell never even bothered with that!!!

This topic has been dalt with before. I cant remeber the details, but do a search of the forum and you will find the answer. It involves either replacing a file in the i386 folder or hex editing the same file to defeat the Dell check.
