Title: Boot Cd
Post by: alexbart on April 03, 2006, 12:21:53 PM
Hi everyone,
I've been for the last month trying to come up with a Live CD capable of booting up older computers. Older bioses like AMI1 upt to AMI3 for instance let you boot only into DOS like Hiren's Boot Disk or Linux like Knoppix. You can not boot off a BartPe or UBCD4Win of WinPE on these older bioses. One workaround would be to place a Hard Disk Boot Image or a Floppy Image on the CD and use HD or Floppy emulation on the burner just to fool the Old Bugger into thinking you're trying to boot off a HD or a Floppy. Does anyone know the howto process? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use to repair older computers in poor neighbourhoods for a living. Bios upgrades for these systems no longer exist.
Thank you for your attention
