Title: Buying a graphics card
Post by: forrealneil on April 25, 2006, 04:37:41 PM
Any help much appreciated.

I currently have an Asus P4PE (black pearl) with a 2.6 gig P4 processor.

I'm looking at cards that are AGP 8X 256 MB DDR.

Is it safe to assume that any AGP 8X will run at 4X - the max speed of my AGP port?

I dont want to waste money on features that wont work on my system, obviously.

Also any reccomendations, maybe? Many thanks in advance.

PS - sorry if this is duplicated.  I think there may be a tech problem with the site.

Nope, the video card specification has to say that it supports 4x, check that.
