Hi out there. I have been wondering exactly what the XP System Restore actually does -- does it restore the registry or just what.
On a related question, it woud be nice to get the functionality which win2k had of just creating the repair disk without the backup program asking you to back up your whole system first -- right now there seems to be no good solution for disaster recovery under XP.

It uninstalls the programs installed after the restore date and it puts back the registry too .
I know it restores the registry because I installed winaspi32 layer and got about 9 registry entries with aspi32 .Aspi32 cannot be uninstalled and I didn\'t know if the entries weren\'t there before , so I restored to 2 days ago , and the registry entries were gone

What mean by using system restor by recovery?There seemed be alot tweaks for winxp. If seemed have good ram least 256ram and processor around 500mhz then just fine with all solve your problems. Ya come accross real intertesting performances on make pc faster. There one use winxp powertoy works awesome and made differents. I also know of

tweak software quite expensive but something worth check

with this windows for along time. I have crashed alot with winme and win98 just too errors and just use ram.
But can happen too all windows. Just believe in my self
that seemed come accross any problems with winxp.
But then again ya never know!!!!
