Title: slooow shut down windows xp

My pc takes 1 min and 14 sec to shut down is that normal
for xp? I defrag alot and close all programs before i shut down
If anybody know how to speed this up please help

did you change a registry key / tweak to
\"clear pagefile at shutdown\" ?
it is usually the cause of long shutdown,

keep in mind the reason it may delay is services are being halted and net connections being closed.

havent messed with anything in the registry

Mine takes 10 seconds...After trying 2 or 3 differant firewalls I found that Zonealarm and Sysgate V4 were the cause of it. While useing any one of those it could take up to 35 seconds to shut down...This might be a problem with others as well...
