Title: Unknown problem, please help

My pc has a problem and I afraid it is nail.exe. As I enter Win Xp, The screen is randomly blink 1 time about 10-15 seconds.Blinking means the desktop suddenly becomes blank in a very short time, then deskop appear again. The screen will blink more frequently when I operate my PC after 30 more minutes. Even worse, the screen keeps on blinking every 3-5 second and the PC becomes hang. I tried to use Antivirus software like  Ewido, Spyspot and Norton to scan for my system and delete some file.  I also tried some nail.exe removal programmes to solve this problem. It works only for a short time. After that, the screen still keep on blinking!

I suspect it could be the monitor itself maybe going bad, you could try a replacement if you have one,
Or borrow one
But just to make sure it's not malware
Can you reboot your computer
Ensure you reboot into Normal mode
After windows has fully loaded, don't try and shut anything down, rather,  run another scan and save logfile
with Hijackthis and post a fresh log

I have changed to another monitor, the problem cannot be solved.So I think it's not the monitor problem. When I enter safe mode, there is no blinking screen. It only appear when I enter to normal mode.I really don't know what kind of virus which my pc have infected. -__-

Why do your running processes in Hijackthis look so small?

UNZIP the contents to your desktop
Don't run it yet

RESTART your Computer into SAFE MODE


In safe mode
Open the WinPFind folder you extracted to desktop
Double click on WinPFind.exe

Click START SCAN
Let this finish, a log will open so you will know it's done
Close out after

Reboot back to Normal mode

Back in Windows
Post the results of the WindPFind.txt located in the WinPFind folder

That looks fine

It doesn't appear to be malware related
Can you try the following
Go to START>>RUN>>type in
msconfig

Open the "Boot.ini" tab
Under Boot Options, can you put a tick in "/BASEVIDEO"
Apply it and Close

If you have reactivated Spybot's TeaTimer>>ALLOW the change
If you don't have TeaTimer running, don't worry about that step
Reboot the computer when prompted

Back in Windows,
Everything is going to be a bit bigger and not as crisp, more like the look and feel of Safe Mode
does the monitor still blink?

This may help to see if the problem is related to video drivers

I have tried to tick "BASEVIDEO" in Boot.ini to enter window again. Actually, the monitor has not blink. In addition, is  it related to hardware problem? My display card  GEFORCE 440 mx  and currently use direct X 9.0C. The video driver is old version I think.

If you check Basevideo and then reboot the computer
You don't have any problems with your monitor?

Yes, I  check Basevideo and then reboot the computer. It haven't got any problems with my monitor. I tried to change another display card and video driver. Finally the problem have solved. But anyway, thanks for your help.
