Looks good, If you didn't intentionally install PartyPoker
Access your add/remove programs and remove it
Your running without any Anti-Virus software, this is not safe
If you don't have your own AV software to install
I highly recommend you install one of these free versions
All have links to the free downloads, so read carefully
ONLY install one, more than one AV running realtime protection in the background can cause conflicts
Note: Ewido is not the same as AV, so it won't conflict
AVG 7 by Grisoft (http://\"http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5\")
Avast Home Edition by ALWIL (http://\"http://www.avast.com/eng/down_home.html\")
Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic (http://\"http://www.free-av.com/antivirus/allinonen.html\")
After you decide which one to install, ensure it is totally updated and run a full system scan, letting it clean whatever it finds
Reboot the computer afterwards
Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log and let me know how things are running please

Let's see if we can figure out why it's crashing
Can you right click on MyComputer>>left click Properties
Click the Advanced tab>>Under Startup and Recovery click "Settings"
Take the tick out of Automatically Restart under System Failure
OK and Apply your way out of there
the next time the system crashes, instead of restarting, hopefully you get a BSOD
Post back the Exact error message on the screen you see
This might help to figure out the cause of the crashes
-
when the PC crashed it gave this error (blue screen) instead of reebooting:
Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and then it said some message about contacting adminstator if its 1st you are seeing this error. Further in the message it said *** STOP:0x000000D1 (0x00005C80, 0x000000FF, 0x00000001, 0xE2BD0048)
Then I pressed the reset on computer and it gave me this error:

That was the last error and I havent used the machine since then.

It appears the problems may be related to outdated drivers
Are your drivers for your video card right up to date?
If not download the newest drivers>>Uninstall the old ones from add/remove programs>>Reboot the computer and install the newest
Do you see any yellow exclamation marks in your device manager?
You may want to check for faulty Ram too
Run Memtest86
burn it too a CD as an ISO and restart the computer
Enter the bios and choose to boot from CD first
(See windows installation instructions)
http://www.memtest86.com/ (http://\"http://www.memtest86.com/\")
Let Memtest run it's course and see if any errors are found
I can't imagine that file is missing, but let's take a look
Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
Paste it to the empty Notepad file
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as find.bat
Save this file on the desktop
dir %Systemdrive%\l_intl.nls /a h /s > files.txt
start notepad files.txtDouble click on find.bat, a dos window will open, it may appear the nothing is happening
Give it a minute or so and then a text file will open, copy and paste the whole contents back here please
-
How long should the memtest take, its been running on my machine now for 23 hours?
Is that normal? and what should I do to stop it?
Thanks

Volume in drive C has no label.

Did Memtest find any errors?
Do you remember any program or hardware installed before the errors started?
-
Memtest ran for 23 hrs and didnt find any errors.
I didnt install any new progs, its been like this for weeks.
I checked the drivers and there was one yellow question mark (cant recall now but it wasnt on any specific device - I will check and post later)
I tried updating the drivers but it requested CD's that i dont have.
-
That's not much help
Go back to device manager
Which entry has a yellow exclamation mark?
possibly under display adapters?
If so give details which driver is installed
-
The only yellow question mark is at:
- Other Devices
- Application Layer gateway Service
The PC was was rebooting, but it got worst in the last 4 weeks when I did some windows updates that included Windows Genuine Advantage. I dont know if that had anything to do with it but each time it reboots, when it finally comes back with windows, it gives me an error report saying windows and Windows Genuine advantage has encourntered serious errors and gives me the option of sending or not sendin the report.

I would ensure that you visit your computers' manufacturers or hardware websites and ensure you have ALL latest drivers installed on your computer
Video drivers, if they are out of date, remove the old drivers from add/remove first before installing the new ones
Concerning WGA error on startup, Microsoft did update there tool last month
It could be the cause of errors, I haven't tested a tool to disable the phone home feature on startup
I'll check it later, might help to resolve that issue
Can I take a look at another log
Just to ensure it's not malware related
Download GMER from here:
http://www.gmer.net/gmer.zip (http://\"http://www.gmer.net/gmer.zip\")
Unzip it and start GMER.exe
Click the rootkit-tab and click scan.
Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply.
If the log is too big to post it all, save it to a text file on desktop then try and upload as an attachment
or I can supply an email addy for you to send it too

That looks good
Did you update all drivers on your computer?
Visit your manufacturers website for updates
Did you check for third party updates, programs such as ZoneAlarm need to be checked for updates every once in awhile for compatibility and security reasons
Can you also try RemoveWGA.exe and see if it will help resolve any issues
Ensure to reboot the computer after running the tool
http://www.firewallleaktester.com/removewga.htm (http://\"http://www.firewallleaktester.com/removewga.htm\")

hey guestolo.
Have you forgotten me?.
I did run the GMER log
-
hey Questolo,
Apologies for the earlier post, i didnt realise u had made another post. I will run the prog and repond shortly.
Is there a tool that i could download which would tell me all the different components that I have installed and their manufacturers?
Thanks
