Hi Questolo-
Can you please help? My computer is infected with a possible virus. It installed something called webHancer and a IE toolbar called MIRAR. I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot and it got rid of somethings but the desktop is still in Active Desktop Recovery mode. Also, there are IE windows that popups with huge windows. It looks like there is still some residual stuff remaining. Can you please take a look. I am attaching the hijack log with this request.
Thanks very much in advance.[/b]

You appear to be way behind on yours, Service pack 4 has been out for a long time
and you still haven't updated
*Make sure your Anti-Virus software is always kept up to date and actively running in the background
*Keep your Firewall protection enabled
A Firewall is also very important
This provides a line of defense against someone who might try to access your computer without your permission
you don't appear to be running any software firewall,
You ONLY NEED ONE, the 2 I recommend are
Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall (http://\"http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm\")
OR
Zone Alarm by Zonelabs (http://\"http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp\")
Both the above have free versions
Update and do scan's with your Anti-Spyware programs on a regular basis
Make sure your using the latest versions of Ad-aware 1.06 (Personal or Pro)
And Spybot 1.4
In addition, open Spybot 1.4
Click the "Immunize" button on the left>>>OK at the prompt>>Immunzine at the top green cross
Immunize after every update
+You may choose to hold onto CleanUp! and Ewido
Ewido will become a limited free version after a couple of weeks
Still, a great scanner to update and run on a monthly basis
Stay safe
