Title: Motherboard beeps.
Post by: Allanon on June 03, 2006, 02:26:46 PM
I recently got new parts to put together a computer and when it was complete, during the test a long beep was followed by 2 short ones.  The damn manual that came with it didn't have a beep chart (as far as I could tell) and neither did their website.  Me and my friend who helped in building it, looked online and apparently its an internal graphics error.  I just sent the video card (PNY Nvidia 7600 GT) back to Newegg who will hopefully replace it.  Internal Graphics error is a pretty broad subject, though without the video card the same thing happens so I'm assuming it couldn't find any video.  Will a new video card be all that I will need to fix it?  Is there any other possibilities as to why this error was caused?

(Also the motherboard has no onboard video)

What motherboard is it?  There's lots of different types of bios error codes, but the only thing I could find that corresponded to one long beep followed by two short was "Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)".
