Title: Computer freezes
Post by: Law_Me_pl0x on July 10, 2006, 12:19:39 AM
We recently had a new Processor put into our computer. The computer has ALWAYS been fast, and runs at 166 mhz. After we got the computer back, it has still been fast, but freezes every once in a while.  Say, when I play runescape, it freezes. When I listen to music, It freezes. When I animate, It freezes. When I browse the net, it freezes. Please help me with my situation!

actually i dont play rs anymore.. got way to boring just sitting there doing the same stuff over and over.

Btw, for ur problem, u ever try running cleanup! or CCleaner.

http://www.stevengould.org/downloads/cleanup/CleanUp452.exe (http://\"http://www.stevengould.org/downloads/cleanup/CleanUp452.exe\")  <<Cleanup

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ (http://\"http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/\")  <<CCleaner

When running CCleaner after u have did a clean through, click issues on the left side and click scan for issues.

If this doesn't work let me know.

Whats this supposed to do?

I dont want to delete everything off my harddrive... I just want to get this "freezing" habit to stop...

it doesn't delete everything off ur hardrive. It deletes all ur useless temporary internet files that r just take up space. u may have over 1Gb of temporary files just siting there taking up ur hardrive. It might not seem alot but it could be the fix to ur problem.

you could but defragging doesn't delete files like cleanup and CCleaner do.

Defragging just organizes ur files that have been lost or deleten. It organizes/deletes them so it can take up less space on ur hardrive.

Yes if u have alot of files that r really unorganized then yes it will speed up ur computer alittle. But i still think u should run these 2 programs. They will free up alot of hardrive space, that is being taken up by useless files.

Ok, it could be the processor or malewar problem. The processor could be alittle loose. But im gonna go with that last.
Please post a hijackthis log.

Download it from here -- HiJackThis (http://\"http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe\"). When u open it click "Do a system scan and save a logfile". A logfile will come up, COPY all the contents of the logfile and post it back here. unfortunally im no good with HiJackThis logs. So someone else will have to help you, maybe questelo when he gets on.
