Title: Installed DirectX8

I installed Direct X 8, and did not noticed changes in Q3 speed (opengl so didn\'t expected them) but seems to have improved the graphics quality, where I noticed a big improvement in speed was in a direct 3d game as MS Combat Flight Simulator.

How did they performed for you?  

Time to learn is endless

It works great for me.  Once I updated my Voodoo5 drivers (the newer ones support DirectX 8) my 3dMark score went back up a little, but is still lower than it was with DirectX 7.  But quality is still superb.
