Help!
My Xp has a missing or corrupt system file. I looked it up on my brothers internet computer and found that it's a pretty common problem. I found a download to create boot discs that are supposed to repair the problem.
When I ran the boot discs, it asked for an administrator password. I bought the computer with Xp already loaded and don't have the disc. I just called the place I bought it from and of course they don't know what I'm talking about but for the low price of $45 they will look at it for me (I bet then they will know what the administrator password is!). Does anyone know a different way to get my xp running again without losing my personal files?

You should plug the hard drive from your computer into your brothers computer and copy all your files ther where you can burn them on a CD and delete them. Then you can simply wipe out your hard drive and reinstall windows.
