Download [color=\"red\"]SmitfraudFix[/color] (http://\"http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip\")[/url] (by S!Ri)
Extract the contents (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

You didn't post a fresh hijackthis log after you redownloaded it??
That's OK, do the following for now

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the screen that appears.
Sign in with your normal user account

==Open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process
I'll need to see these later, by default they are also saved at C:\rapport.txt

Reboot back to Normal mode

Back in windows
Use Internet Explorer and Run the online Panda ActiveScan (http://\"http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2factivescan.htm&NRNODEGUID=%7b3B202047-35D4-4DA2-B310-B1DBEC2971F2%7d&NRCACHEHINT=Guest\")
* Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button.
* A new window will open...click the big Check Now button.
* Enter your Country.
* Enter your State/Province.
* Enter your e-mail address.
* Select either "Home User or Company."
* Click the big Scan Now button.
* Allow the ActiveX component to install and download the files required for the scan. This may take a couple of minutes.
* Click on Local Disks to start the scan.

When the scan is complete
click See Report, then click Save Report and save it to your Desktop.

Post back ALL the following please
1. Post back a fresh hijackthis log
2. Post back the log from Smitfraudfix>>C:\Rapport.txt
3. Post the Whole report from Panda's

I would really like you to run an AV on your computer as I don't see one installed

Can you do the following please
* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe (http://\"ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe\")

Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
Choose the "Scan"-tab, remove the mark at "Heuristic analysis".
Back at the main window, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: (http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif)
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:
(http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/move.gif)
This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.

Yes I have spybot, but not adware. There were no viruses found. I beleive I am having problems with my internet Explorer, is because I have the Internet Explorer 7.0 beta 3, I cant find a way to downgrade to 6.0.

Let's do the following then if you feel like you want to keep this computer clean

Download and Install
Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06 (http://\"ftp://ftp.download.com/pub/win95/utilities/aawsepersonal.exe\")

Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
Close out after it is updated, as we will need it later
Open Ad-Aware SE 1.06
Click START
Click the radio button to Perform a Full system scan then click NEXT
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process

Access your add/remove programs and remove
Viewpoint Manager
Also remove any old updates or versions of Java
This includes
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

Double click to install and follow the prompts
After installation, delete the installer from desktop

You need to have your own Anti-Virus installed on your computer!
I very much recommend that you install one of these free versions if you don't have your own to install
AVG 7 by Grisoft (http://\"http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5\")

Avast Home Edition by ALWIL (http://\"http://www.avast.com/eng/down_home.html\")

ONLY install one of the above, more than one active AV running in the background can cause conflicts
After you have your new AV installed, make sure it is updated, run a full system scan
Let it fix whatever it finds
Reboot the computer afterwards

I can only advise you on keeping Viewpoint manager
You don't need to uninstall it, but it's not needed on startup

Just to make sure that we have you all clear

Go to START>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore
Create a New restore point
Name it and click create
When that's done

Open MyComputer
Right click on Local Disk C:
Select Properties>>Disk CleanUp
Let if finish calculating

Select the More Options tab
and click Cleanup under System Restore
This will clear all later restore points except for the one you just made

Ok the prompts, it may take a few seconds to remove old restore points
Ok again after it's ready and let it finish cleaning

*Install SpywareBlaster 3.5.1 by JavaCool (http://\"http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html\")

After installation, Check for updates and then click the "Enable all protection"
"Check for updates every couple of weeks"
after every update just simply click the "enable protection on all unprotected items"

*Keep up to date on Windows updates (High Priorities)
This is the most important step in keeping your system secure
Make sure you check for updates at least once a month and/or set to Autoupdate

*Make sure your Anti-Virus software is always kept up to date and actively running in the background
Keeping your AV set to Autoupdate is a very smart move

*Keep your Firewall protection enabled
A Firewall is also very important
This provides a line of defense against someone who might try to access your computer without your permission

Update and do scan's with your Anti-Spyware programs on a regular basis
This includes Ad-Aware Se personal 1.06 and Spybot 1.4 <--make sure you are running this latest version please, if not, post back and I can give you a direct link to it
In addition, open Spybot 1.4
Click the "Immunize" button on the left>>>OK at the prompt>>Immunzine at the top green cross
Immunize after every update

I beleive that the main problem is my internet explorer. If I'm right isn't internet explorer associated with all programs because now to access anything under start<All Programs<Accesories<System Tools<System Restore gives me an error and when I try to access account profiles in start<control panel< users I get the same problem with anything that I need to fix my computer with. In otherwords main problems that dont work, is System Restore, Internet Explorer, Users, and I find new stuff that wont work as You have been working with me.

Now I may have an idea IDK if it will work but do you know if useing Command Prompt in safe mode would work? I have also tried reinstalling my O.S. *Windows XP Home* and My cd-key is missing. So I found a program to retrieve my cd-key from my xp database *did scan before useing* and it gave me a key. Problem with that was that it looks like that worm or whatever it was changed the key in my database also. So I can not ask for help from Microsoft without that. and the key that was there was invalid. I do NOT want to use any illegal methods such as other cd-keys. I have thought of installing Linux perhaps mandrake or suse but im not sure I would like to ask your opinion of this matter.

Now I have just heard of these registry restore programs or something do you know of anything like that sir? But with the way windows works *sounds to me now like the worst O.S. ever* with the way it solely depends on Internet Explorer

Do you have problems if you reboot into safe mode, sign in with Adminstrator account
Not your account, but the hidden Admin account
Once logged in, can you access the Control panel
User accounts>>create a new user account?

here is the one error i can get copied...from steam Steam.exe(main exception): Win32 StructuredException at 7E8F07CF: Attempt to read from virtual address 9 without apporopriate access rights.

wasnt able to copy the error report that is sent to microsoft because it doesnt give me the command when i right click and i cant highlight sorry bout that.

OK THIS IS REALLY MAKIN ME VERY ANGRY THIS WHOLE SCENario. I beleive whoever did this has complete access to my computer because several of my accounts for certain things were deleted!!!??!?!

Follow the instructions carefully, that should get everything back to Normal
But you will have to revisit Windows Updates immediately afterwards and apply Service packs and high priority updates!
