Hello guys,
I have a suspicion that I just need to get a new sound card but want to make sure that any of you don't have a suggestion as to a fix.
I have headphones plugged into the front of a Dell SX270 and without anything playing I hear static, almost like listening to an old cassette tape. And the sound reacts to my mouse moving as in it squeels a little whenever I move it. Neither of these are very loud but after a while the static and the squeel get a bit annoying. And it doesn't matter whether it's muted or what level the volume is at. So is my only solution to get a new audio card?

Have you tried the latest Audio drivers for your product, it may help

Not sure what operating system your running, so you will have to look up your own
+ Just for elimination, can you try muting your microphone in the audio settings and see if it helps
If not, try another setting in your audio settings
