Title: winXP & file download problem
Post by: tik on March 05, 2002, 11:19:08 PM
Today, I encountered strange problem w/ my WindowsXP box.
I was trying to download zip\'ed file, but when \"File Download\" window poped up win \"Open/Save/Cancel\" buttons, \"Open\" button was disabled.
What is going on? Does anyone know how to fix this?

I would appreciate any help.
Thank you

P.S.  i am not sure wherever it is is related, but I got latest security updates from MS website.

just shooting in the dark here but if this is the only time you\'ve had the problem maybe it was on the other end ie the download site was blocking that option

or is the open from current always disabled for you

i had to same problem too. the problem was that the file associations got messed up. there was an action so that Windows knows how to handle it but there is no default action causing the open button to get disabled.
