It sounds as if the sound drivers are corrupt and need reinstalled
If you enter your Device manager
Right click MyComputer icon...
Select Properties>>Hardware>>Device manager
Any yellow exclamation marks or red x's?
What do you have under Sound,Video and Game controllers?
What computer do you have>>Make and model no.?
I only changed the cd drive today but i didnt toch anything else.... so could you help me?
Are you sure all other connections are secure?
You may have loosened something by accident
You have some questionable software installed
Can you do the following
Please supply an uninstall list from Hijackthis
Open Hijackthis>>Open MISC TOOLS SECTION>>Open UNINSTALL MANAGER
Click the SAVE LIST... button
Save the list to your desktop then copy>>Paste back here the Whole contents
-

You have to be careful with what programs you run
What did you install before you lost sound?
I've seen programs such as ErrorDoctor and RegCure remove legitimate entries
This could be the cause
have you recently ran any of these programs on your computer
Don't put to much faith in those types of programs
Do they have a backup option??
I have other recommendations, but let me know the above first
Also, what happens when you go to Control Panel>>Add Hardware
Click NEXT, does it detect new hardware?
-
before i lost sound i instaled only stardock pacakde (its like StyleXP,WindowsBlind , customice ur dekstop...) and thats it
Yes i ran them but dont remember exacly before or after tho i think it was after
Yes they got backup
no it didnt find anything
-
Your uninstall list and your Hijackthis log don't match
The hijackthis log shows the following installed
Starware343 <If you see this in add/remove programs can you remove it please
Red Swoosh
It's not a recommended piece of software
You decide whether to keep it or not, it is targeted by some AntiVirus and AntiSpyware companies
Because of it's use
Read here
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/threats/25.html (http://\"http://www.safer-networking.org/en/threats/25.html\")
You are running Download Accelerator Plus –If it's the free version
This is a download accelerator that delivers popup/popunder ads, tracks your internet usage, and may allow malware onto your system.
If you do decide to remove it remove SpeedOptimizer also
If you chose to uninstall Download Accelerator Plus as recommended, also delete:
C:\Program Files\DAP
If you need an alternative, let me know
The problem with the yellow exclamation mark next to System devices-PnP BIOS Extensnions
Is probably due to Daemon tools
Although not malicious
I don't see it in the uninstall list and seems to be causing troubles
What version do you have installed?
Did you upgrade to the latest version, is could be a leftover
Did you uninstall an older version?
Please see this link for proper removal of older version
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/t2138-erro...ls-drivers.html (http://\"http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/t2138-error-25002-invalid-driver-names-or-driver-conflict-or-how-to-remove-daemon-tools-drivers.html\")
Reboot afterwards
Your version of Firefox is behind
You should go to the following link and save the installer for the latest version too desktop
http://www.mozilla.com/ (http://\"http://www.mozilla.com/\")
Before installing
You should access your add/remove and remove Mozilla Firefox (1.0.7)
Then install the latest version
Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log
You may also need to reinstall your motherboard drivers?
Do you have onboard sound or an addin sound card?
What are these in your add/remove programs?
rejected.zip
xbox360nst.zip
What make and model is your computer?
Eg.. Right now I'm on a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop
-
OK i did everything you said tho when windows started i got a message on desktopt ,,Daemon tools not instaled" but i did everythin in the save removal and reinstaled the 4.03 ok so anyway heres the two HJT logs:

Is this a legal version of XP?
I was now going to suggest visiting Windows updates
selecting the 'Custom' button to check for updates. Once finished checking, on the left-hand menu there is a 'Hardware, Optional' type link.
See if there is a driver update for the 'Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver'. If there is, mark the check box next to it for download, and then 'Review and install updates'.
If this isn't a legal version of XP
You probably won't be able to access Windows updates
What happens when you go and run New Hardware in Control panel
Anything found?
-
well its a legal version (kinda) check PM but there isnt in hardware update any sound driver update only lg monitor...
-
oh and when i see in the control panel add hardware it shows the sound driver ,,MEDIA" with yelow mark and says ,, driver not instaled"
-
Try reinstalling your sound driver
You can download it from this direct link, the website is slow
Click Here (http://\"ftp://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/audio/Adiwdm_3665.zip\")
Save the zip file to your desktop
Then ensure that you UNZIP the contents to a folder of it's own on your desktop
Don't try and run it from within the zip file
Open the folder and run setup.exe
Follow the prompts
Reboot when prompted
Does that help you out
Any problems in device manager?
-

-

-

I'm not sure what your problem is
What hardware have you added to this computer since you owned it?
Did you reopen the back of your computer and ensure that everything was hooked up properly>
Last attempt then you will have to troubleshoot on your side unless I can find the problem on google or elsewhere
Remove any external periphials hooked to the computer
ONLY leave your mouse and keyboard hooked up
Reinstall sound drivers from the download
earlier found in the Soundmax folder you unzipped
Reboot ONLY if prompted
afterwards, go back to Device manager and remove
Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver if it has yellow exclamation
Reboot one more time
any luck
Give back as much info as you can
Did you install anything else besides your CDrom before you lost sound
When did you install Winfast
