Ok here is the deal i want to install xp on a computer the only problem is that the pc i want to put it the cd rom doesnt work............so here is what i have done i put the hard drive into another computer and copied all the files and then when i put it back into the other pc it wont boot up inot windows.........i figure it was becuase of the drivers it set up for the other computer so what i want to do is copy the entire cd to the hard drive and install it like that just not sure how to do that...........any help would be appreciated

Simple answer - borrow a cdrom from another machine or buy a cdrom. Install from cd rom.
If your computer does not support bootable cds, use the XP install floppies available from M$.
If those are not options, copy the i386 folder to your hard drive (using FAT32 or FAT)
Obtain a 98 startup disc and place a copy of smartdrv.exe on it
Boot using the floppy, run smartdrv.exe and then run winnt.exe located in the i386 folder
XP install should now initiate
