Title: Photoshop 6.0 and Boot screens

Weeeell.. I have seen a bunch of threads about this, yet no answers. I have loaded the swatch/palette/whatever, yet the screen is still black... Please help.

You need to save then in 16-Bit mode

Actually it\'s not 16-bit, that\'s a common mistake I think everyone\'s making.  It\'s 16 COLOR.  As in only 16 colors total.  16-bit is much higher than that, and will not work here.

Click: Image ----> Mode -----> Color Table ----->
Press \'Load\' and load the act-file

There\'s another thing you really *have* to do when saving the file as a boot logo otherwise it won\'t work.

The file must be saved as 96x96dpi and *not* 72x72dpi; i was hanging around quite frustrated until i actually opened the original logo and checked all settings and found out that it is 96x96dpi so i tried this with my images (everything else was the same but not the resolution of the image) and that was it.

how do i change the dpi from 72x72 to 96x96? help?

Go To Image Size, change the 72 number to 96

Okay, I\'m having one problem

I did all the steps like what it said, and when I replaced it in dos, and when windows loaded, I got a black screen, why is that?

I really appreciate the posts!!!...but...
You guys should really be a little more careful and complete when posting tips!

You DON\'T \'HAVE\' to save the image at 96DPI, it\'s just looks less grainy than 72dpi cause it seems to automatically stretch it to fit 96dpi.

ALSO  !!

If you do bump up the \'Image Size\' from 72 to 96DPI, the size of the image will increase.
You HAVE to make sure to resize the image BACK to it\'s original size as well [e.g. 640x480 for BITMAP : 1 : 1033 in ResHacker]. or it\'s bluescreen funtime.

Again, thanks for ALL the great idea and suggestions!
But please re-read your instructions and procedures before posting! Some NooB might get hurt, heheh!
