Title: BLUE SCREEN OH GEEEEZZZ

Hey,

Can someone help me? I think I got the blue screen in my other computer and all my programs seem to shut down after a few minutes. The blue screen seems to appear when I try to do something on my computer. And I have to restart again and the computer runs the disk check when I do so. What should I do???


(The blue screen has the following on it:
 "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: (the name of the program I try to run)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software.........................................etc."  /ph34r.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':ph34r:\' />

heres whats usually wrong:
ur motherboard is broken! that would mean buy a whole other comp!
or your opperating system may have failed... meaning reinstall windows xp or whatever you run on it...
it should be tht simple...

I got loads of stuff I want on it so isn't there anyother way I can get rid of it?

It could be from faulty memory to malware,

Can you try the following, even though this might not show nothing, it will give info about OS and such

From my signature below, download and save too a permanent folder of it's own onto your harddrive
Hijackthis 1.99.1
Open Hijackthis.exe

Do a "SCAN and Save a Log file"
A log will open in Notepad
Copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log  here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important

I ran the scan and when I tried to get online again the blue screen appeared and now can't use the computer at all. The windows loads but then after that the blue screen apears without the start up page. The final pop up box i got said to close all the programs and log off becoz the system was going to shut down.

What now?

Hmm, can you boot to safe mode?
Do things run normally in safe mode?
Try running Hijackthis in safe mode and save the log

Transfer it to a floppy if you can and post it back here

Tried to get to safe mode but then also the blue screen appeared. I switched the plug off and then restarted the computer then I was able to get to the start page. Then again the message saying "System is shutting down please save..... This shut down was initiated by NT Authority/ system. ......This shut down was initiated because the Remote Procedure Call...."

Were you in safe mode with networking or just safe mode
I wanted you to try WITHOUT networking

Try the following
You don't have much time, so do it quick

Shut off the computer again
Reboot into Normal windows

Immediately go to START>>RUN
type in
cmd

Hit Enter

type the following in the prompt

SHUTDOWN -A

Hit Enter on your keyboard
Notice the single space between the 'N and the -'

This may buy you some time, if it works
Run Hijackthis and save a logfile
Post it back here

Yeah I was in safe mode without networking before.

Anyway I tried the CMD thing and then when I entered SHUTDOWN -A it said unable to abort the system because no shut down in progress.

And after that the screen went blue and only the dos window was open.
Am I being hacked or something??

Are you able to boot to Normal windows
ONLY use the SHUTDOWN -A if you get the prompt the system is restarting

Don't open no other windows
Go to START>>RUN type in winver

Let me know what OS your running>>Home or PRO
Also let me know the version number
Try running Hijackthis and post the log

I'm using Windows Professional, version 5.1. The log file I saved earlier today and some other icons seems to have changed. And previously I got the message saying MY DOCUMENTS folder is corrupted and my virus guard was deleted sometime back also. The blue screen appeared very frequently after I tried to reinstall avg antivirus guard yesterday.

I ran the scan in safe mode. Shall I go to safe mode with networking and post it to you from there??? becoz I'm using the laptop to write this so can't use diskettes on it. And I don't have a pen drive.

Are you going to post your Hijackthis log?
I would like to see it from a scan in Normal mode, but if you can't do that save a log from safe mode

EDIT>>Woops, yes go ahead and run in safe mode with networking
I hate to ask you to do that, but let's see what's happening
