Title: Special note to scammers stealing RL money
Post by: Everlasting Death on September 24, 2006, 07:06:00 PM
If you are a scammer who scam people out of Real Life money for RS money that is considered Illegal and if the person presses charges against you can go to Juvie(if underage) or to Jail(over 18) or if your Judge is nice you could just get community service but this is a message telling all you people out there that tradeing real money for runescape money is against the runescape rules but if you steal the runescape money the buyer can press charges against you because i'm guessing you won't be using paypal and the person will know your address so don't steal other peoples money and only buy from trusted sellers if you are buying any way /dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />

How should I report someone that has done this to me? Boom scammed me 39.7m ($317) and I do not want him getting away with this.

PayPal is doing an investigation at the moment.

[quote name=\'Allanon\' post=\'71413\' date=\'Nov 16 2005, 10:13 PM\']YOUR PASSWORD IS YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY! I am here to keep it that way.  Action must be taken if we are to stop scammers on this forum! just say if you give support or don't!

The Anti-scammers was started with this post on November 16, 2005 at 8:03 PM, It is now currently spread throughout 4 forums, but lets not just keep it at that!  If you ever come across a Runescape help forum that is in bad need of the Antiscammers, then establish a branch there so we can grow even further.  At the bottom of this post there will be a list of associated sites, lets make the Antiscammers bring the fight to other forums instead of keeping it to just 4 sites

If you say you want to be an anti-scammer and I have seen honest posts from you on other threads you will be accepted.

Being a part of the antiscammers means reporting scammers whenever possible.
-Also don't ever say anything on a scam page just report the person (otherwise the post is
brought to the to of the front page for all to once again see the scam)
And most importantly, POST HONESTLY.

I made a sig that I will put in any scammer's signatures, so if you see the following don't listen to a word they say.

There will be rules for this and this is how things will work:

1.  First offense at an attempted scam:  You will recieve the "SCAMMER!" sig in your signature and not be able to post for a number of days dependeing on how badly I believe you deserve it.  After about a week of honest posting I will remove the "SCAMMER" from your signature along with aything else I added.

2.  Second offense: Suspension for up to a week, "SCAMMER!" back in your signature and an appeal for a ban.

Also, make sure if you are going to post a new topic (even if it is helpful) that there is not a similar topic already on the first few pages.

Also if you want to join just put the following in your signature:

(Thank you to Everlasting Death for making the signature)

ELITES

Requirments to join:

NONE! just can never have scammed

please note: being a "basic" anti scammer should not be a basis of trust as all the sig says is that there is no evidence that they have scammed in the past.

Requirments to be an elite:

-Recomendation from at least two other people who are elites (past transactions could help)
-Over 50 forum posts
-NO SCAMS, if you are recognized as a scammer you will deffinently not get those recommendations.

--Being an elite can be a basis for trust for the most part--

Current list of elites:
-Allanon(Founder)
-bloodogre(president)
-Zspec32(vice president)
-GOD OF WAR
-Evil Shady
-Pro Edge
-Spin
-Xtreme(previously Snake-Master)

-RSGOD
-mattman18
-HyBryDmOnStEr
-Dann
-kingikz1001
-b a l a n c e
-watever123
-Kyra Yamato

PS: If I forgot your name just say so, these people were all picked by me and I think they have all proven to be honest.
Also if I mispell it just tell me.

Sig:
The regular sig can be anything or nothing.

The elite sig:

Its sad to say but unfortunately It costs more time and money to file and follow through with the lawsuit.  In the end, the defendent will have to reimburse the court costs and fees, but anything you spend on a lawyer is lost.  It would be in small claims court, and if you are the one suing you will also be the one that has to fly out to the court case, if they live in another state.  Its done that way to prevent frivolous lawsuits.

So really the only people that can file suits are adults with money and time.  People like me /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

But seriously I hate scammers as well and its still good info you took the time to write.  It is punishible and is no laughing matter.  In fact if you use US mail you have even more protection with Mail Fraud being a felony offense.

I agree, and when blood comes on he'll see and pin it ASAP.

Also you have very good ideas, the anti-scammers should have a big meeting with blood.

I just want to get something back from RS other than More RS things..

I lost 150mil by Real world trading and the reason I am not that worried is because I lost it breaking the rules... Thats my punishment
