Title: Got a new PC (last 2 months)
Post by: QuantumCube2 on October 01, 2006, 03:15:30 AM
I'm looking for a new PC. I have a hewlett-Packard with only 2.10ghz and 1 G RAM and ATI radeon 9200. Its old as you can see. IM not going to be playing Doom on this thing any time soon.

I want a new one but I only have like 1300.00 USD/bucks. I can get some more later for a games card but what kind of deals can I get in this price range? Should I wait for that new operating system from Microsoft to come out? or black friday or that day when there is no sales tax? I like Hewlett-Packard but would i get a better system if i try to put one together myself with parts from lots of deferent places?
Any one know if there is any good deals coming up in the next few months? Or if you know cheep sites that sell good computers. I don't have to have a name brand.

What kind of specks should we be looking for in a new PC?

I hate dell. There all worthless pices of crap if you ask me.

Edit: OMG the good ones cost 3k bucks and the cheapest one was 1300 bucks and it was only 1.86GHz the pc i have now is better and i got this thing 3 years ago. Hell no

Edit again: whats the deal even the 3k buck one has 1.86ghz Processor. What am i missing or what should i be looking for?

OK last Edit: is it better to have one of those due CPUs at at like 1.86 ghz or one of those CPUs thats not a due core at 3.2 Ghz? What kind of specks should I be looking for in med price range gaming pc.

Tell me about it Dell is way overpriced for the stuff they give you...

If you want my advice I would say go to www.newegg.com (http://\"http://www.newegg.com\") Pick out everything that you need (case, mobo, power supply, processor, RAM, video card, HD, CD/DVD Drive, etc...)

When looking for brands deffinently get an AMD processor if you want to play games well on it.  Also I think Corsair is a good brand for RAM, Asus for motherboards and I personally preffer Nvidia Graphics Cards. something like a 7900 GS should be good.
