Title: W2K Password
Post by: mbaldw on April 09, 2002, 06:31:59 AM
Everytime I boot up Windows 2000 Professional I get a message box asking me if I want to change my password - I click \'no\' and it brings up my desktop quite happily.   It is, however, a bit of an annoyance & I\'m wondering if there\'s any way of turning it off?  I checked the passwords function in control pannel & have set it so that it doesn\'t ask me for my Admin password on boot-up into Windows but I can\'t find out how to turn off the change of password request.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Marc.

Have you tried with \"password never expires\"?

Thats what i would suggest.  Try making sure your password never expires.

I haven\'t seen that option - is it under \"User Passwords\" in the Control Panel?

Cheers,

Control Panel -> Users and Passwords -> Advanced -> Advanced -> Users
Pick which user, double click to open. Tick \"Password never expires\"
