Title: Windows installer on Win XP
Post by: Anonymous on April 16, 2002, 11:23:21 AM
I keep having this message when i try to install soft that use windows installer:
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.
Contact your support personnel for assistance.

I tried all fixes that i found and none fixed the problem (reinstalling msiexec from office XP, msiexec /regserver).

Can someone help me find in windows log or in registry the solution?

Thanks

i\'m probably wrong
but maybe the installer is under add/remove, maybe you can remove it and re-install
other than that it may be a corrupted os
or possibly a virus but i doubt that
call microsoft, they\'ll charge you big $$ though
