If your use to the shortcut commands of Photoshop
I recommend Gimpshop, that's what the wife is using now, I don't use it all that often
http://www.gimpshop.net/ (http://\"http://www.gimpshop.net/\")
The download link for Windows is on that link for all versions
For Windows 98 +

Or try the original
Gimp

Mrs. guestolo, hee hee, just kidding
Remember, the first time you run the gimp, it will take a bit of time to load
After that it will load quicker

I'm no heavy Photoshop user, but for basic stuff The Gimp works fine.  Interface is a bit different, neither one seemed harder to get used to, but if you're well-versed in Photoshop, then there may be a bit of a learning curve you weren't expecting.  As an added bonus, if you ever decided to switch from Windows to Linux, that's one more program you don't have to worry about (The Gimp runs on Linux without any extra work, same as OpenOffice.org and Firefox).

Yeah, the Gimp is good. And best of all it's free. But for the really complex stuff, the gimp is no match for photoshop
