Title: cgibin directory setup
Post by: dabandit on January 02, 2001, 03:39:44 PM
Hi all..

Could someone explain to me in easy steps how to set up a \'cgi-bin\' directory on a Windows 2k professional workstation that has write and execute properties.  I\'m have a few problems with applets from www.coolfocus.com which appear to be connected to this directory setup.

many thanks

Decky

Have you got perl installed on your machine?

download it free from www.activestate.com  this allows you run perl scripts on your machine and integrates with IIS.  Make a folder on your Personal server called cgi-bin and stick your .pl scripts in there. Make sure you use scripts designed to work on an NT machine as there are slight differences between Unix perl and NT perl.
