Title: the hack of 2004
Post by: CASPER123 on November 23, 2006, 02:33:28 AM
in 2004 jagex released a patch that they thought would heal and rid the game of scammers. what it did was it jammed all macros and made it to where they just stoped working. well of course hackers got around it and made one to where they could dupe many things. they duped many items and the market crashed. they patched it and the market is now back and running. something like it will happen soon.

LOL, im sure he still plays. Hes just not saying who he is in public so he doesnt get banned. >.<

There are probably ways out there to dupe now, there will always be ways (just not always public). You just have to keep learning about how there system works and just screwin around till you find something.

Thats why its good to keep cash and not all rares and items, if something like this does happen you would have a little of both items and cash so whichever gets duped, you wont lose much from the drop.

If i found a dupe I wouldnt tell anyone, I'd just give some of my mates valuables and hope that jagex didnt find out.

I dont think anyone would tell. I may record a lil video of it and when I finnally quit and sell my stuff for money I would release the video to show jagex that it can always happen.

Edit: Oh lol and im speaking as if I had a dupe, im not saying I do...

And puppychow how do you think it can not happen? Its coding and theres going to always be some way to exploit it with new programs people are making. Its like these spyware and virus companies, they keep coming out with new versions because people keep finding more ways to screw up computers. There will always be ways, idk how you dont understand that.
