I got a pentium 4, 2.66GHZ Toshiba Satellite, 512 Megs of RAM, but I'm having speed problems, when I try to run a few of games and apps. Is the only way to improve the performance through addtional RAM or can I try to overclock/manipulate what is available? Any suggestions?
I'm looking for much more speed, but enough to keep me from falling asleep when I try to run something,
(also the hard drive's not full and I defrag on occasion, I'm also running windows XP 2002)

try clockgen thats a program that overclocks cpu,ram and also video/graphics i think. Id also like to know what other programs could be used to overclock laptops as my bios does not support and my laptop does not like clockgen

I agree, I've used clockgen in the past and it's worked fine for me, if you got anymore question just give me a buzz.

what exactly does clockgen do.

^ Improves processor speed + video card speed im guessing. Causes unstability (sometimes) though, and might cause over heating.

yeha clockgen will improve proccessor and memory but it definetly will increase the temperature so if your going to overclock your laptop a lot make sure the laptop has a good cooling system.
