Title: Questolo i almost forgot lol...
Post by: Mod Ryan on January 02, 2007, 01:36:11 AM
Hey lol, sorry to bother you again, i bought this computer over a year ago now, and the "fans" (2) seem to spin awfully slow.. (half the speed they spin at when i first start my computer) and i'm also having this problem where my whole computer freezes for around 5-15 seconds, not even the amber light comes on to sell me the computer is busy, the internet cuts out breifly. so about 3 months ago i put a DVD in the DVD drive, it seemed to solve everything... it stopped freezing, there was something about it that stopped the computer from freezing for a while, maybe it was keeping the CPU occupied, but anyways, is there a way i can fix this, without keeping the roasting hot DVD in the drive... cause it aint exactly good.. for the computer and the disc, but at least it stops it from freezing,

Any ideas?

Is the inside of the computer nice and clean?
Are the vents on the outside clear, what about the fans, are they all clean?

Since you just reformatted, give it time and see if you still have freezing problems

Yes, i dust my Computer often.. even inside the fans both cpu and power, they seem to spin at a really slow speed...if u can imagine a normal fan spinning at 100%.. mines spins at around 30% and with the disk in, it's no diffrent.. it just seems to do something that makes it not freeze, the disk is out is now, and it's already freezing... 4 or 5 times since the format, i dont really want to put the disc back in... it might damage the computer...

i have a feeling it is to do with cpu usage and cooling,

what do you think?

If your not doing anything not to heavy on CPU usage, the fans may spin at about 50%
But say you tried playing a game, that is heavy on graphics and CPU, they may spin up to help keep the system cool

What make>>Model is this computer?
Did you ensure you got all latest drivers, including motherboard?

Make: Philips
Model:MT200 (Although i'm not too sure, because i'm running on a "MT2100 OS" but it was doing this when i still had the MT200.

I'm not too sure if i have all the latest drivers, but i'm pretty sure i'm up to date.

Is that the make and model of the computer?
We may have to dig deeper tomorrow as I'm off to bed

Do you have a website of the computer manufacturer and the model of your computer?

What type of Video card are you using? Onboard agp or and addin, such as PCI-E
