When installing programs that use Windows \"install shield\" certain programs are giving me the following error:
Program Error
_INS5576._MP.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program... etc.
MS says I can contact them and pay for the answer (they describe the same message when installing QuickSync)- see

Getting different versions of the programs (Like Adobe PhotoShop) seems to make some of them ok- but I can\'t install my new Soundblaster drivers. I have a feeling that this could haunt me. The only thing I did recently that might have screwed something up is running Norton WinDoctor and RegVac (since I origainally wrote this, I\'ve undone most of those changes; still getting error when trying to install Soundblaster update/driver). No other problems from that- they both usually make everything work better.
