YES there is as with all Microsoft OS there is a way to do a clean install of the os with an upgrade cd.

boot off the XP cd. you may need to change to boot order in the bios.
this will then bring you to a welcome screen, from there press enter to install, then F8 to agree to the EULA, now you are going to get a message that it was unable to find a past OS to upgrade, at this point take out the XP cd and put in your win 98,me,2k cd press enter then replace the xp cd back and just follow the steps from there.

You Need the 4 boot floppy image\'s if the CD  is not a bootable Copy, to determine what you have.
You have to see what your PID (Product ID) is for the upgrade or the full version

Remember if it is not a Corp. Ver. you are going to have to Reg. it with MS
