Title: Bootable Windows 2000 Server
Post by: Fjellu on July 01, 2002, 07:21:01 AM
When making a streamlined CD and trying it with Virtual PC I get the error \"Insert Windows 2000 Professional CD\". Is this because I am using the boot sector from a W2K Pro CD?

Where can I find a \"boot.bin\" that works with W2K Server?

Odd, they are the same.  The whole boot sector is the same actually.  Until you start the install there is no difference to my knowledge.  Have you checked with Bart?

Then it is really odd. I have the copied the whole CD. Actually I think the files in the root and the i386 is all needed.

I have to try again from scratch. If it doesn´t work I`ll hear with Bart

Wait, if you are making a server CD you need the printers folder for some reason.  Maybe I am thinking of NT4 server but I think it is the same for 2000.  Not that that has anything to do with the install asking for Pro though.

What about the file \"CDROM_Ix.5\"

Make sure you have the right file.
