When you download a file that has a virus, you arnt yet infected. Once you open that file, you open the virus as well! So what you do is download a file(save, not open) go to: http://virusscan.jotti.org/ (http://\"http://virusscan.jotti.org/\")
This is one of the best scanners that uses more then one antivirus program to scan. After you scan, if its clean you can open the file up and enjoy it, if it has anything in it, delet it and remove ut from your recycling bin! And keep away from the spot where you downloaded it.
