Title: RE: HP Recovery CD
Post by: hybrid_peanut on July 12, 2002, 11:30:27 AM
Can any1 help me out?

The 1st PC I had was a HP Pavilion 8540 (UK).  I have a different PC now but I still use the keyboard from my old computer.  Now this keyboard I use is a multimedia keyboard with 21 programmable keys and a volume knob.

My question is this! I need the Win98SE drivers 4 this keyboard, now i got a recovery CD with the pavilion computer I had but the drivers aren\'t on there!

There are however 4 *.paq files, now i gather these r 4 parts 2 a compressed image which was made from the HD in the pavilion PC.  The drivers I need should be in these images but how the hell do I extract them?

I\'ve looked for information on *.paq files but found nothing, does any1 know anything about these particular files?

The make of my keyboard is HP with the part no# 5183-9969 and the software it uses for the programmable keys is by a company called Netropa.  Does any1 happen to have what I need?

Also i could do with the WinXP and Win2K drivers for my keyboard 2, hope some1 will be able 2 help me out.

A quick search.  Here (http://\"http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hppavilion18904_swen.html\") is what you are looking for.

Don\'t see any Win2k or WinXP keyboard drivers, but maybe the Win98 driver works under 2k or XP.  If not, you could try a driver from a different manufacturer here (http://\"http://www.netropa.com/download/mmkbd/download.html\").
