Title: Dos Based Registry Access
Post by: Neilc on July 15, 2002, 01:50:14 AM
Hi Everyone,

I have a requirement to modify the Windows NT/200 Registry from DOS. Is there a utility that allows this functionality, or is there anyway to make a Windows 2000 boot cd (not to boot off to run setup but to boot to a gui). i know of such a method for Windows 9x but not NT.

Please Help

Neil

Greetings!

There“s a programm called RegView v3.83 that provides support for editing Win9x/NT/2k/XP registry files from DOS.

Unfortunately the site is in russian language, also the documents, but the programm itself is in english language!

This programm works quite good, but i recommend to make a backup from the file, you want to edit!

here is one that i know of: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html (http://\"http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html\")

that one is a linux boot disk.

other programs that i know of that may help out is the ERD commander 2002 this will boot up to a mini-os where you can edit the registry for the OS in regedit and other things as well. you can check that out at: http://www.winternals.com/products/repaira...mmander2002.asp (http://\"http://www.winternals.com/products/repairandrecovery/erdcommander2002.asp\")
