Hi,
1/2 way through installing windows xp pro (corporate edition build 2600) it comes up with an error saying something along the lines of cannot find \"Diskpart.exe\"
it gives 3options:
1./ skip file
2./ attempt to reinstall file
3./ abort installation
if u skip the file it comes up with bunch of errors later on!
i have no clue whats going on!
I hope someone out there can help me out!
Cheers

try swapping out the ram in the system.
most file copy errors within an OS install end up being the ram in the system.

hello, thanks for the article - it actually describes exactly what is happening!
The problem is, the computer was bought at the showroom, with the motherboard and RAM fully compatible (along with everything else) - there have been no upgrades, etc.
I tried doing the obvious and did a search for Diskpart.exe on the cd, but it wasnt there (stupid, i know, its all in those *.cab files but getting desperate here...!)
Anyone else have this kind of problem before? maybe with a different file that won\'t install?

check the ram anyway, i would put money down that the problem is with the ram.
FYI -- i do tech support for w2k i see this problem about 1 every other week.
swap the ram and it will work.
