Title: joystick problem

i bought a joystick today for BF" but my computer isnt detecting it does anyone know what i can do?

What Joystick>>Make and model no.

What operating system are you running?
Do you have all Windows updates?

its a gameware joystick its made by the game retail shop in england called GAME the requirements for it is

PC with Pentium ® 166 processor or higher free usb port MS windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP home or professional 25MB of available hard disk space and DirectX ® 8.0 API or later

i dont know what this is (DirectX ® 8.0 API or later ) dont know if i got that my information is in the attachment and i get automatic updates everyday

How did you get it to work?
Was it unproperly plugged in or the software not installed properly?
Just curious
