hello all,
I have a amilo pro laptop. it was a replacement my insurance company gave me after i dropped mine.
I am now however unable to play dvds from it. The sound is fine and i get a picture but it is really jerky. (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I have the free divx codec installed.
I can play avi files fine and all drivers are up to date.
any ideas???

What program are you using to watch the DVD with?

Take a look at this link

not quite sure of system specs. but ensure background applications are disabled

I've had this happen before, enabling dma on my dvd drive cleared it up. As guestolo suggested make sure there's no apps taking up too much cpu time running in the background.
