Title: message system screwed up

well my when i look at my new messages it says -1messages i dont know how to get rid of it or if it even matters it just real bothers me.

Click on 1 New Messages
You can read the message, delete the message, whatever you want after that

It's a bug with the forum.  There's a couple other minor bugs, none are show-stoppers.  Soon as there's a fix out for it, I'll apply it here.
