I try to charge my i-pod or put on songs and my computer completely freezes up. It never did this until about a month ago. Even when i unplug it, my computer is still frozen.

I don't own an Ipod, but to help any further I would have to know all specs of the computer
Operating system,etc.....
Do you have dual monitor setup?
When the computer freezes, can you bring up the task manager (ctrl+Alt+Del)
If so, under processes, is CPU high, what is using CPU?

I would run down the 5'rs that I linked you too, if you can't do a step, skip it and go on

If nothing helps
Try Johns' iPod_nano_1_GB's suggestion in the second post of uninstalling>>reinstalling software
