I don't think you have a Ram problem, you probably have Shared memory with video

Do the following
Go to START>>RUN>>type in dxdiag
Hit OK

Let this load, under the System tab, how much Memory does it report installed under System Information?

Then click the Display tab, how much Approx. total memory does it report?

Just for cleanup in your hijackthis log
Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

If you didn't intentionally set the next one in your trusted zones of IE, tick it also
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.trymedia.com (HKLM)

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Your Java Runtime Environment is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.

Updating Java:Don't install the new version yet

Back in Windows install the latest version of Java

Did you add in the Nvidia Geforce card after you purchased the system
It states you have 256mb card installed

Your 446mb ram: I'll assume should read 448mb, but close enough
The integrated onboard graphics on the motherboard was probably using 64mb shared
bringing it to 512
I'll also assume you added in the Nvidia card, is that right?
Did you disable the onboard graphics in the bios?

i havent changed anything since i bought the computer but it was a refurbished computer. if it was added how do i disable the onboard graphics? i think the nvidia is an integrated one...so there are no problems? can i make it so it says 512 ram? i need 512 to meet minimum requirments for a game i play...it plays under it just not as well...

if you really want to enjoy a game...you shouldnt be wanting to get 512mb anyway...

even 1 gb is too small with most advanced games...

You can still double check in the bios the default frame buffer size is set at
It could still be sharing system memory, but for gaming you don't want to set to low

Here's some info on your board
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...335&lang=en (http://\"http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00757470&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3300335&lang=en\")

Appears you can go to a max of 2GB memory

See if the bios is reading the Ram correctly
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...335&lang=en (http://\"http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph03886&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3300335&lang=en\")

Also, check the frame buffer size in the bios, what is it set too?
Should be in the Advanced section
