Title: HELP WITH BOOTING COMPUTER WITH XP??!!
Post by: p3nis69 on July 01, 2007, 09:34:36 PM
I have a maxtor 200gb hard drive that i partitioned into two 100gb sections. I installed windows xp professional into one of the partitions. Before i could not install because the "Access Mode" in "CMOS" had been set to "Auto," but i switched it to "Large" and it worked. I have installed xp and entered the serial number and everything. But after the setup completes it restarts the computer. Then after its done restarting, i get the screen where it says "Windows Xp Professional" and theres a loading bar below it. Now the loading bar has 3 little squares that move from left to right. This is when the problem starts up. Those 3 blue squares go from left to right of the loading bar 3 times, and then i get a glimpse of a blue screen error (cannot tell which one because its too fast) then the computer restarts !!?? any idea why this is happening? any help would be greately appreciated.

As it is in wrong forum, I think it might be your hard drive. My labtop did that, it just kept restarting at a certain point. Might want to check into that hard drive.
