Title: Not Recovering from hibernate
Post by: Kaski on July 08, 2007, 03:52:41 PM
I tried to limit repetive forum posts on the same problem but I looked and couldn't find anything on this subject.

Anyways the problem I am having is my computer will go into sleep or hibernate mode but 99% does not ever come back. The computer will fire up but the still have no display on the moniter. So I have to hit the reset button and I reach that screen at the start up that states something like "windows was not shut down properly would you like to start windows normally or in safe mode or 2 other choices." Other times it will fire up fine and I can resume what I was previously doing. I'm running windows vista on a computer I built myself if that makes any difference.

I don't have an edition of Vista yet, but I'll try to help with what I can

If you built this computer
Ensure you have all latest drivers
Especially Video drivers, this can cause problems with Power schemes
Some drivers may still be buggy

Also, I assume this is a desktop computer
Check your options in Control panel, since you don't have a laptop try High performance scheme
