Title: Poor Image Quality
Post by: Mark on September 05, 2002, 04:23:48 PM
I\'ve just installed a Sparkle GeForce 4 Ti4400 card having taken out my GeForce 2 MX400 and the image quality isn\'t very good.

I uninstalled my old card, switched off, inserted my new card and then installed the drivers. Once I\'d restarted again it looked OK at 800 x 600, once I start going up through the resolutions it get\'s blurrier! At my usual resolution of 1280 x 960 it\'s like trying to read while drunk!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

Yes ,did you reset the refresh rate to the highest one your monitor is capable of  in  the resolution you are in .
Normally after updating the refresh rate is set to 60 (probably for security reasons) .
So you have to adapt it to your monitor\'s
possibilities

i have a gforce 2ti 64ddr and when i run media player, i use the ambience warp in full screen mode. when i switch it to full screen, it goes alot slower. i have 512ddr system ram also. what is the best refresh rate to use? mine has 60, 70, 72, 75,85, 100, and 120hz in the drop down. if i change these,do i need to change the screen res too?

Depends what your monitor can support .You must first mark \"hide the modes that the monitor cannot display\"
in the \"display properties, settings, monitor \" ,that is , if your monitor is installed in the display  properties . Then you can take the highest refresh rate ,although 85 is high enough .
If only a plug and play monitor is installed , install your monitor  first , with  the right *. inf file . Every screen resolution has it\'s own refresh rates from the monitor , the higher the resolution ,the lower the refresh rates .

You should look better
those are the refresh rates:
Screen Resolutions
1600 x 1200 @ 75Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz
1024 x 768 @ 117Hz
800 x 600 @ 150Hz
And here is the link to the driver  *.inf file
Down load and extract in a folder called CTX , and update your monitor  .
