yo guys..i bought this computer at a garage sale..4$..it was a lady their..she said she didnt know the price so i said 4$..she said idk..i said cmon..she said its my husbands and i said cmon..then she said ok..i was happy took it home..OMFG it turns on. it had windows xp professional..but it was fake or something..not legit..so i put in my windows xp home..but..i cant get rid of the xp professional..it gives me 2 choices to go into. pro or home. anyway this computer is a dell.
DELL POWEREDGE 700..i opened it..omg...had some huge long metal square on the motherboard..1 fan in front,1 in the back. so i wana erase the xp professional thing..and this computer says its pci-x and its not express...i tried a pci-express graphics card and it didnt even fit. so i have a built in 8m video graphics..and i want a 128...because im sure a 256 wont run on this old computer..wut can i do..is their a pci-X graphics card? and it has 2 pci slots..i tried a pci graphics card also..it didnt work. but i did recognize that at walmart they sell a 128mb graphics card radeon 9250..which for some reason does work on old computers..i guess ill buy that again..but its like 79.99..real expensive for a 128..a 256mb geforce pci 5200x only cost 69.99 at frys electronics by my house!! so yea.. 2 problems! xp pro..deleting it and pci-x..is their a g card for it..thanks =)and was the deal good? 4$?..how much is it worth anyway

Since you just installed, I would opt to start over
It looks as if you didn't rid yourself of the old Operating system before installing the new one
Take a look here
http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm (http://\"http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/clean_install.htm\")
Take note of step 6
You will want to Delete the partitions first that both operating systems are installed on
Also, at the step to format
Use the Normal Format with NTFS (Usually this is default)
don't use Quick
