Title: Limit User Accounts

I believe you should limit the number of profiles that can be made from an IP or computer.

It would help reduce scamming by 30%.

People make multiple accounts to trick people by posting on a scam thread saying it worked when it actually doesn't.

It would also reduce scamming, because when scammers are banned, they can just make a new account with a new identity to scam some more.
(also reduce new scammer identities by deactivating the function to change your display name. people abuse it too much.)


I'm not telling you to do this, just advising you to. I'm saying this because i don't want you to think that I'm bossing you around or trying to take over.

This site isn't mainly just for games. It's for many other things too, if someone needs constant help and they keep making new accounts for this site then what?


And how do you know it'll reduce scamming by 30%

And questolo doesn't run the site. He (assuming your a male) just helps people out with there computers. The guy who actually runs the site is josetann. And i am afraid it is not as simple as it seems to only allow people to register from one ip or one computer. I am pretty sure that he would need a modification to do it.

Still it would help, and it's a very simple Mod to install, so I'd do it if I were you, and Allanon and Pureblood do IP ban don't you?

Too many people use a proxy ip and don't even know it.  AOL is bad about this.  It would affect a lot of legitimate users.  What I would like to see a mod for, would be for something that lets regular users see the last bit of everyone's ip address.  It'd be the least identifying part of your ip, but if someone signed up for multiple accounts and used the same ip, we'd know.

There used to be this great mod on RS2MM, it would list any users that had accounts that had been used on that computer I think it had something to do with DNS or something... Unfortunetly I haven't seen that mod since, and have no idea where to find it...
