Hello Friends
Thank you for your previous advice on bypassing Product key entry in Win2k Cd.
Now i have successfully tested a multiboot iso with VirtualCD
The boot options on the iso are:
1. Win 2K Pro
2. ERD Commander 2K2
3. Disk Commander
4. Acronis Disk Editor
5. Acronis OS Selector 5
6. Ontrack Disk Manager v9.47
7. Seagate Disk Wizard Starter Edition
Now i want to include Partition Magic 7 Rescue disk boots into the iso. But the major problem is that - the \"Create Rescue Diskettes\" makes Boot Set with two floppies . So how should i use both to make a single image file. or should i extract the images and do some hacking on that?
All comments are invited.
Thanks in advance
-
make the 2 floppys , use the first disk to make the image in winImage then try adding the second disk files, for the first disk is needed to boot the sysem, the second disk has all the needed files!
-
Thanks for the advice.
i have tried thew method you suggested, but it won\'t work.
When i try to inject the floppy 2 files in the first floppy image , I get the message that there is not enough space in image to inject some of the bigger files.
Is there any other method of file injecting?
Amit

also, tell winimage to make a 2.88MB file, that way they will definitely fit and that way, you should be able to fit all of it in one image and with some extras, I did this and added more files to it :-) hope this helps some more.
-
The merging \"tweak\" is only possible with Drive Image not
Partition Manager cause it uses ramdisk and must be able to write a batch file. U will get a \"could not create batch\" error.
Have not found a way around this but I`m sure some one with scripting capabilities could do it.

Just put the files from the 2 floppys is a directory
on the cd, then boot from a floppy image that
include cd-rom drivers and ram-drive.
here are sample config.sys and autoexec.bat :
config.sys:
=======
files=60
buffers=20
dos=high,umb
stacks=9,256
lastdrive=z
device=himem.sys /testmem:off
device=ramdrive.sys /E 4096
device=oakcdrom.sys /D:oemcd001
autoexec.bat:
==========
@echo off
set temp=c:
set tmp=c:
LH MSCDEX.EXE /D:oemcd001 /L:R
r:
cd ExtrasPqmagic
Pqmagic.exe

I would go with Alon\'s post,
That is how I do it for both Drive Image and Partition Magic. Never had a problem

This will allow you to make a DISK Image IMA file
from either Drive Image or Partition Magic. This works through
version 7.0x of PM and 5.0x of DI... haven\'t tried newer versions.
These will work with the ISOLinux/Memdisk combo, and probably Diskemu. I haven\'t tried with diskemu, though.
------------------------------------------
-- Use Winimage to make an Uncompressed Image File (Use File...Save As... and change file type box to .IMA) of the 1st Floppy for Partition Magic or Drive Image.
-- Copy the contents of the 2nd floppy of either set to a holding folder on the hard drive (faster to inject than from floppy).
-- Use WInimage to change the format of the 1st Floppy image to 2.88mb size.
-- Inject files from the 2nd floppy (off of hard drive holding folder) into IMA File.
-- Extract Autoexec.BAT from IMA file, edit to take out the pause and the prompt to put in the 2nd disk, save file and re-inject into image. (This is optional, but will mean booting directly into the program, instead of hitting a key midway through the boot.)
---------------------------------
-
If you use ‘win image’ you need to read the first floppy than \'change format\' from \'image\' menu to 2.88 and than copy all the content if second floppy to the new image.
Save the new image in UNcompressed format the extension in IMA not IMZ.
I have allot of experience of making rescue CD’s and if you need more help email me
-
No No No people you are going about it all wrong the second disk has basically a copy of the first disk plus the PM7.exe file I think from memory you just copy that .exe to the first CD and edit either the config.sys or autoexec.bat that prompts for the second disk and REM or delete that bit.
I have the disk image if any of you want it.
-
first: make the two floppy disks as directed by the installation process of the program.
-------
-------
second: make a new folder oN ur hard disk, and put in this new folder all the content of the two floppys :AS FOLLOWS:

NOTE
DO NOT LEAVE SPACES AT THE END OF ANY LINES IN THE TEXT OF [CONFIG.SYS] AND [AUTOEXEC.BAT]
BY USING WINIMAGE MAKE AN IMAGE OF THIS NEW EDITED STARTUP DISK AND NAME THE IMAGE [PQPMG.IMA].
PUT THIS IMAGE ALSO ON THE ROOT OF UR CD [BESIDE THE FOLDER WE MADE EARLIER WHICH WAS CALLED (PQPM ).
BURN THE CD AND MAKE ANY BOOT MANAGER[BOOTSCRIPTOR OR BOOTABLE CD WIZARD OR DISKEMU]POINTS TO [PQPMG.IMA].
I HAVE TRIED THIS METHOD AND IT IS WORKING FINE IN BOTH PQMAGIC 7 AND ALSO IN 8.
ENJOY.
LET ME KNOW HOW U MANAGED TO DO IT IF U DO.
-
bump for the newbies.
this does not necessarily mean that i am an expert,lol.
-
Ok for all those wanting to put Partition magic 7 onto one boot floopy disk all you need are the following files:
AUTOEXEC.BAT
CONFIG.SYS
MOUSE.INI
RESTART.COM
PQMAGIC.EXE
PQMAGIC.OVL
PQMAGIC.PQG
PQPB.RTC
RESCUE.TXT
ZABOUT.PQG
MOUSE.COM
PMHELP.DAT
AUTOEXE2.BAT
HIMEM.SYS
The restart.com file was just an added extra I like.
Edit the autoexec.bat as follows:
@ECHO Off
PROMPT $P$G
REM -------------------------------------------------------
REM -- DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE! IF YOU WISH TO ADD NETWORK --
REM -- OR CD-ROM DRIVERS, CUSTOM KEYBOARDS, ETC., PLEASE --
REM -- EDIT AUTOEXE2.BAT INSTEAD. --
REM -------------------------------------------------------
IF EXIST AUTOEXE2.BAT CALL AUTOEXE2.BAT
ECHO PartitionMagic 7.0
ECHO © 1994-2001, PowerQuest Corporation. All rights reserved.
ECHO.
ECHO Loading please wait...
ECHO.
PQMAGIC
edit config.sys:
DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS
REM DEVICE=EMM386.EXE
DOS=HIGH,UMB
LASTDRIVE=Z
REM -------------------------------------------------------
REM -- Put code page variable (yyy) here. --
REM -------------------------------------------------------
REM DEVICEHIGH=DISPLAY.SYS CON=(EGA,yyy,)
REM -------------------------------------------------------
REM -- Put network or CD-ROM drivers here. --
REM -------------------------------------------------------
REM DEVICE=CDROM.SYS /D=driver_name
And that's it

Well I forgot to add this bit so here it is.
use the boot disk wizard and make two boot disks then delete the files off the first disk that aren't needed and copy the files from the second disk onto the first. There are probably other ways to do it but that's the way that I made mine.
