Title: A idea to help stop exhaust polution
Post by: kon on September 17, 2007, 04:28:55 PM: Hello, you know about global warming and stuff? well i came up with a kwl idea, what if someone just put a filter of some sort on the exhaust? it would iliminate all the polution, well at least most of the bad stuff, and its a good idea to help start stopping global warming, if u like this idea, go ahead and make one, i would just like the idea credit to go to me =], and if u already know something like this or very similar, plz tell me, ill check it out. thanx, plz respond, i just had to share this with someone.

Two: It would be good, IN THEORY but how? lets also make hover shoes so we can never be later to school/work (in the non weirdo's case) again.

So come up with a way of filter.... I guess you could put it in a tank and them empty the tank at a special place ever day or so but the tank would have to be huge and people are lazy and would never be bothered to do that, so the car would eventually just blow up, I guess thats a good way of exterminating all the lazy people though.... MUWHAHAHAHA, JB Lee is skrewed....

Post by: JT Hubbs on September 19, 2007, 04:49:43 PM: For exhaust of combustion equipment/engines (cars, boilers, furnaces, and bigger) you need a certain amount of free area for fumes to flow out. Example, louver blades are spaced and louvers sized to allow for the proper free area. The exhaust is being sucked out as much as pushed out so a filter could begin to block the free area and result in toxic byproduct of combustion being stuck in basements, inside cars, inside factories and coil/oil power plants.
Basically, the byproduct doesn't disappear, it goes somewhere, but is not healthy to have in enclosed space. Perhaps, rather than filter the air, there could be a way to change the character of the air -shooting ions, some such thing- and clean the air without decreasing air flow.?
I dunno, oil is messy.

Post by: TheDezired1 on October 17, 2007, 12:08:38 PM: lol this thread is silly i'm suprised none of you have heard of a CATALITIC CONVERTER it does pretty much what you are suggesting and reduces CO2 emissions by ALOT and as another bonus... theres NO BYPRODUCTS, this convertr is on EVERY modern car d=since its a legal requirement in almost all countries and is a requirement of the eu.
so this has been invented but well done for thinking greener.
