I need serious help quitting RuneScape and computer games in general. It takes up so much of my time its driving me nuts, (but I actually do have a life) its just that after my "normal" life, I end up staying up like all night doing something else on the computer.
I need serious help with this you guys, don't joke around and be like, "Play runescape." I've already tried quitting, But I always come back, and I can't seem to part with my pure ranger that's won me over 650m in staking.
This is driving me nuts. When I wasn't playing RuneScape, I went onto private servers, and then I came back, then I went to private servers. ITS ALL THE SAME THING.
My god... And I think just the concept of MM'ing like makes me want to play. This does not mean I'll quit MM'ing yet, or that I will scam, but I once I reach a certain goal, I will quit MM'ing. It's driving me nuts.
I have A LOT of homework, but without all these distractions I know I would be doing it faster (I have straight A's, taking the hardest courses in my school)
I just need your stories on how you guys quit, or your tips on what to do. Please don't get off topic and post stuff like "I never played." Computer addiction is actually a growing thing affecting many people... And I no longer want to be one.

Ok, first of all get someone to clean you of all your cash (or give it to me), or sell it for irl money! Then ummm, maybe block runescape and runescape related sites? I'm not to sure.

nah dont does that just think ur [censored] over man runescape is finaly Just a game take me for an exemple i play ruenscape and im 18 year old yes ive been realy addicted since ive been playing since 2001 but still its just a game i have a life a girl friend and if i dont play runescape for a month or 2 i dont go insane bcuz of that ! bcuz ur stuff and ur account always gona be there i dont no if u see my point but .... like i use to not speak /write /read any english since i speak french now no kiding but my girlfriend speak english only and i learned to speak it over 9 month of relation ship i find that prety awesome ... runescape helped me alot to learn english too

look how you can quit rs is just try and get yourself banned hardcore where you cant come back and leave all your cash on there or just try and break your graphics card so you cant play for a while /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

get hacked so even if you log back inthen u wont ahve anything to do...and mess up ur pure or sell everything and donate to runecore

I just played until i got bored. When i started playing a new game i easily got over rs, now i just got to wait till i get bored of cs!

just give away all your accounts so u have no option to go back also u should give the accounts t ome cos well u just should cos all i got left after soemone and i dont know who lol changeed my main pas is stupid little lvl 26 lol

Lol I had the same problem. I even quit a couple times for 2 week periods, but I always came back and was addicted again. Then I got a gf, and me and herve been goin out for awhile now. I still go on, but only for like 2 minutes then I get off. I'm not addicted at all anymore. Just try to socialize with people you know irl, maybe get into some clubs or extra curricular activities. Dont listen to those ideas about breaking your computer or cutting off your internet cause you need your internet either way. So just get involved in irl stuff, and if you ever wanna go on just do it. But give yourself a time limit or something. And eventually youll be over rs.

smoke weed with your friends on weekends, Download msn and talk to real life friends. also listen to music.

my dad did this to me......
well i got this program called "net nanny"
so everytime yoou wanna get on the internet you gotta click start on the little box and then it gives you like 3 hours and if you dont use it all then you can click stop and get back on later and click go again. but when you run out you cant get on the internet again for that day. and it resets every 24 hours...... u could do that to yourself. it helped me. i dont have it anymore but yah i used to be like that, everyday whenever i was done with school or hanging out with friends i would just go sit on the comp the rest of the day. so my dad noticed and got me that so then i started gettin better habbits and now he took it off 0.o

how i did it is this:
-sell all of your accounts.
-get a rl bank account
-get a state id card
-play a sport(you dont really have time im guessing)
this really helped me "grow up". if you enjoy runescape, play it. eventually you WILL grow out of it. there will come a point when you dont feel like playing runescape. good luck beating the addiction.

cept i kept 1 rs account... i play a LOT of sports, i have a bank account, and i have an id card...

that is correct.
although ideally, You need to end all roots of RS.
Get rid of ur account and all RS relations.
By doing this u should lose interest in it.

how I quit rs: i never not a lot of cash just a santa and red mask... got bored on my ranger and sold red mask for a whole [censored]load of red chins to 99 range... on my first trip i died due to the lag that rs is having and ended up losing around 5m.. i then realized why the hell am i wasting my time on a [censored] game like this with many bugs and retarded 8 year olds. With the realization i gave up on a game ive played for 3 years and well... spent time working off the excess carbs i've gained while playing rs...
if you want my opinion...
a)SUFFER A BIG LOSS
b)look at the girl of your life and realize that you'll never get her as long as you play this game
c)think of what rs is turning into. if you read the rants on the forums you would feel that this game is entering the dark ages and lost all meaning

sell your runescape accou t or try to get it banne dor perm muted so u wont be able to go on it again i had an addiction to runescape until i got perm muted then i quit.u could like watch lots of tv or go out to the pub if your 18 or go on your xbox 360 or any game sconsole u have.or u could learn the chinese stuff under my comment. ok this is wat u have to do...sell everything on ur accs like turn it all into rsgp...sell the rsgp for reall cash =)...sell ur accs for reall cash..now u have 2 options here, 1st option if u have a wi fi reciever u can type in ur ip adress and ull get inot the reciver, theres an option to block sites, block everything rs related but ttg, yes i support what this site does =) after u turn the whole rs thing into real cash block ttg, delete ur msn related to rs and youtube if u have vids n stuff, delete everything off ur coms thats rs related, then play like a 1st pearson shooter for 1 month and that should get ur mind off of rs, go to like some parks or sumthing like that with ur gf, rs is taking a lot out of my life 2 btw so i kno how u feel, get a hobby ull definatly forget about rs, and ur 650m thats ur ranger made is like $5 per mill, thats a load of cash buy ur gf sumtin nice =)

this is wut you do. You take that 650m and sell it for 3-4 dollars a pop there it is some rl money. You use that money and go buy [censored] like a car or new accesories on ur car. basically just splurge ur ass off. Now you basically send in numerous messages to jagex saying that they shud suck ur balls and obscene [censored] like that they will eventually ban you now u can forget about rs. im dead serious here smoke some weed get some friends chill with girls strive to be popular or evn more popular if you arent and ur set peace brah hope this works for you

How I quit... Just find a new hobby... I mean, if you have nothing to do and you don't really have an alternative then your going to play runescape :S...

Yded, if you want to quit don't donae your money, don't give it away, sell it all. Then ban your accounts or sell them. You will have alot money irl and can buy like 4,500 good nights and merchant them on Ebay...."where magic really happens..oh at Ebay...." anyway when I quit I'll do that.
