Title: Printer upgrade
Post by: olopbob on October 21, 2002, 02:46:05 PM
I have decided to upgrade my Lexmark Z22 to a new printer. I have narrowed my choices down to:

Canon S750 - about $130.00
Epson C80 - about $125.00
HP 940C - about $110.00
HP 950c - about $135.00
HP 932c - about $130.0
HP 960CSE - higher price but looks great

Prices courtesy of Pricewatch.com (includes shipping)

If anyone thinks any of these is better than the other let me know.
They are all about the same price.I would like the one that prints the flatest for photo printing.

You cannot advice a printer if you do not know the purpose of it .
For lots of pure text it would advice a laser printer  , and for lots of  pictures ,you must decide what you want to give out  . Some ink cartridges are pretty expensive .If money isn\'t a problem buy the best . Check some  computer magazines .

Here's my take on this...

For CD printing, I'd suggest Canon specifically i950 (this is what i use) For pictures, a friend of mine swears that Epson is the only choice for printing this type of document. I don't really print much pictures, so there

But for B/W, I use HP970CXi--actually any HP printer would do well for B/W printing. That's why I HP printer cartridges for my paperworks. I get my compatibles online. My supplier offers a variety of HP ink cartridges, epson cartridges, pitney bowes fax toners, tektronix 7300 printer ink, cartridge discount laser minolta toner. So with all the printers in our house, obtaining such assortment of cartridges under one roof is heaven sent.
